CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gov. Joe Manchin today appointed Harry Bergstrom as deputy chief of staff for the Manchin administration. Bergstrom, a longtime Division of Highways administrator, has worked in a variety of state government roles the past 31 years.
He most recently served as the assistant director of the Division of Highways’ Right of Way Division.
“Harry has a passion to move this state forward. I believe that his time spent in state government and the knowledge and experience that he has gained over the years will serve my administration and the people of West Virginia well,” Manchin said.
Bergstrom is a native of Upshur County. He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from West Virginia University in 1975.
“I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve with our governor in making the State of West Virginia the very best it can possibly be,” Bergstrom said.
Bergstrom will officially begin his new role as deputy chief of staff on March 16.
